Doctrine: What We Believe

I. Verbal Inspiration

We believe the Holy Scriptures to be the verbally inspired revelation of God, the final authority in all matters. The Bible for all ministries of this church is the AV 1611, King James Version, which is infallible and without error. Ps. 19:7-11; 2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:16-21

II. GOD

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three personalities, the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. The members of the Godhead are equal, having distinct roles of operation performed with harmony in perfect unity. He is, all powerful, all knowing and ever present. Col. 2:8-9; Gen. 1:1-2; Matt. 3:16-17; Heb 9:14; I John 5:7

III. Jesus Christ

He is the second person of the Godhead. Became flesh, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, offered Himself as a sacrifice in our place. His blood was shed as payment for our sin. He was buried and bodily arose after three days, bodily ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father, our high priest making intercession for us. John 1:1-2, 14; I Tim. 3:16; Like 1:26-35; 2 Cor. 5:21; Heb. 9:12; Rev. 1:5; Acts 1:9-10; Heb. 4:14-16

IV. Holy Ghost

Is the third member of the Godhead, a distinct member, present and active throughout the scriptures. In this present dispensation, He is received fully and permanently at salvation, baptizing the individual into the body of Christ. He convicts of sin, teaches and directs believers, and assist them in prayer. Gen. 1:1-2; Matt. 3:16-17; John 14:15-18, 26; Eph. 1:13-14, 4:30; I Cor. 12:13; Acts 13:1-4

V. Creation

We believe the Biblical record of creation is a literal account. Over the span of six, twenty four hour periods God spoke and brought all into existence. He placed the man and woman in the garden with duties to fulfill and gave only on restriction. Heb. 11:3; Gen. 1:1-2:4; Jer. 10:10-12

VI. Man

Man was created on the sixth day, in the image of God. One act of disobedience introduced sin, physical death and separation from God (spiritual death). From that day, all men are born into this world with a sin nature, and who, as soon as they are capable, become sinners by choice. Gen. 1:24-28, 2:21-25, 3:1-7, 16-21, Rom. 5:12
